📝 2025 Barnes County Spelling Bee Results! 🏆 The 2025 Barnes County Spelling Bee took place on Monday, February 3, at 1 PM in the Hi-Liner Activity Center, featuring top spellers from grades 5-8 across Barnes County. Students from Barnes County North, Maple Valley, St. Catherine’s, Washington Elementary, and Valley City Junior High competed in three challenging rounds: written, vocabulary, and oral. 🏅 Barnes County Spelling Bee Champion: Theresa Peterson (Maple Valley) 🥈 Runner-Up: John Oakland (Valley City Junior High) Both will represent Barnes County at the State Spelling Bee at the Bismarck Event Center on March 17! 🤖 Valley City Robotics Dominates the Red River Valley Tournament! 🏆 Valley City VEX IQ Robotics competed against 60 teams at the Red River Valley VEX IQ Robotics Tournament on Saturday—and what a performance! The Teamwork Challenge finals were intense, with the score to beat set at 49 points early on. Teams 58072D Battle Bots and 58072J Organized Chaos gave their all, but it was the top-ranked teams, 58072B Robo-Ducks and 94605A MaxIQ, who stole the show with an incredible 82 points—the highest teamwork score of the season! 🎉 🏅 Teamwork Challenge Award: Robo-Ducks 📓 Design Award: Organized Chaos, recognized for their exceptional Engineering Design Journal and interviewing skills Next up, teams head to Grand Forks on Friday, January 31, for their final regular season tournament before State.
